All Inclusive Disney Vacations are the perfect gift for mom!

What? A Disney vacation for mom? You're not serious?

I am - I really am. I got to thinking - with Mother's Day just around the corner - what is it that I really want.

Well, jewelry is nice. Clothes - ok. I love personal notes and artwork from the kids. Chocolates I could do without. But a vacation - hmmm. The gift of relaxation is pretty darn appealing.

And DisneyWorld is actually one of the better choices of place. I know there is so much there for kids. But for me - if the kids are happy and entertained then and only then do I get to relax. There is so much to see and do. With the Disney Dining plan, food is not an issue. No cooking for me! What more could I ask?

So, darling hubby - here is a hint - let's go to Orlando for Mother's Day!

What was Mom's Favorite Gift?

So, now that the holidays have come and gone, tell me what was your mom's favorite gift?

Now I know they all appreciate everything the kids get them. But some gifts are always better than others, aren't they?

I got two gifts for my mom this year. The first is something I made. I have actually become quite handy at crocheting. So I found a book with scarf patterns that don't scream "table runner". What I created was a mod looking scarf that I would actually wear myself. I used some upscale yarns and, voila, a one of a kind, original gift.

The second thing was the Cooking Mama game for Nintendo DS. Yep, I have a hip, DS playing mom. And a side benefit - I got to try the game out for myself as well.

She says she likes both - but I really haven't seen her use either in the few days that followed. Oh well, mom's are so hard to please.

Perhaps I will spend the year coming up with some better gift ideas for mom for next Christmas!

Gift Cards - No Time Left!

Now I don't need to tell you that time is almost up for gift buying for the Christmas holiday. This weekend the stores are going to be crammed with last minute shoppers.

To avoid the hassle, the only available answer is gift cards.

And you don't need to run to every store to get them either. The place to buy every conceivable gift card is the supermarket. You heard me right - most major grocery store chains carry gift cards to a large variety of other stores - iTunes, BestBuy, GAP, Kohl's, you name it.

Head to the grocery store and avoid the last minute shopping crowds - if you go really early you will even avoid the throng that is sure to be at the grocery store this weekend.

Mom will love the freedom to choose her own gift, too!
